DIY: Neon Chain Necklace

Since I have fallen deep in love with this yellowish/greenish neon color ( pic above) I have added three shirts + a pair of shoes  all in this  color to my closet collection. This is going to be my go to color for the summer!  The only thing left to do is to add  some neon around my neck. Check out the tutorial below!

Things You Need:

  • 14 inch Large double loop chain
  • Pliers
  • 2 Large Jump Rings
  • Neon  cord or string.
  • 1 clasp

DSCN2030Step 1:  Cut 2 pieces of string. Each piece should be longer than your chain.

DSCN2021Step 2:  Connect  your clasp the with a jump ring to the end of the chain.

DSCN2033Step 3:  Take a piece of your string and tie it to your jump ring.

Step 4:  Start weaving the string around each chain link.

Step 5: Continue until you reach the last  link letting your string hang out.  Do not cut or knot your string!

Step 6:  Tie your second string to jump ring and  start weaving the other side of  your chain.

Step 7: When you get to the end tie both pieces of string together then knot.  Use your pliers and connect your second jump ring to the last chain link.

Step 8: Knot both pieces of string together at the other end. Make sure all knots are nice and tight.

Step 9: Cut strings. Depending on what kind of string you used if its likely to fray slightly burn the ends using a lighter. You can dab a little super glue in between your knots to help secure.
